Katrin Endrikat “found her voice” said Russian composer Konstantin Vassiliev after hearing his work performed by her.
Born in Berlin, Germany 1989, classical guitarist Katrin Endrikat is known for her warm tone and “characterful, lively playing” so the public states. She has lived and performed as a soloist and chamber musician throughout Germany, Canada, the United States and South America.
She has performed as a soloist in venues such as the International Guitar Festival Iserlohn, Guitar Series Wolf & Lehmann in Berlin, Yale Guitar Extravaganza (USA), Saitenfestival in Hamburg, New England guitar society, Festival Internacional de Guitarra in Peru, Guitarras del Mundo in Argentina and Gitarrenfest Spandau.
Katrin released 3 albums that have been reviewed in magazines including Soundboard and Classical Guitar, as well as online CD review sites. “Between the Worlds” (2014), “Joie de Vivre” (2016) showcase traditional music and transcriptions for the classical guitar and “Verano austral” (2019). Katrin collaborated in projects with Siccas Guitars in Germany, Connor Guitars in the USA and Open Strings Berlin in Germany.
Prize winner of numerous competitions throughout her youth and scholarship recipient Katrin graduated with a Master of Music in Guitar Performance from the Yale School of Music (USA) under the guidance of Prof. Benjamin Verdery in 2014. She obtained her bachelor’s degree from Hochschule für Musik Detmold (Germany), where she studied with Prof. Dale Kavanagh and Prof. Thomas Kirchhoff.
Since 2019 Katrin is working as coordinator for plucked instruments and teacher for classical guitar at one of Germanys largest music schools in Berlin (Musikschule City West).
